Being an Adventure Student

My last year at AdVENTURE was pretty eye-opening and eventful, I can't believe it has already been four years, and I'm already so close to graduation! Hi, I'm Malena Jimenez, an eighth grader in AdVENTURE stem and I've been here since 5th grade, and I'm part of the (probably) last class to not have 2 8th-grade classes. I remember so much from my first year here, I came knowing little to nothing about this program, I knew no one here, I knew nothing about the classes or teacher, but here at my final year, I know almost everyone from AdVENTURE, and I've gained so much knowledge through the 4 years here, not only academically but today's problems and social issues today too. I've been able to gain so much more info in this school that I possibly could've hoped for, and that will help me in the future in high school and social life too. While being in AdVENTURE, I didn't learn about technology and engineering in a small classroom with other kids, I learned about social issues, future problems, engineering helping you and the world, political issues and figures, and so much more, but it helped you learn to be part of the small community of AdVENTURE and the city around us of the Silicon Valley. And this year especially, you and your team are motivated and encouraged to look at the city around us and see how advanced we are, and how we can change our own area or other places for the better.

In AdVENTURE, we work with a wide range of technology and websites every day! That means we always work with computers, every grade does, from 5th grade to 8th, each project is technology based, meaning we do different components digitally. From research to the first draft to the final product, it can all actually be online. And throughout every year you learn some new websites you can use, you learn new tips and tricks you can do with every site. And I'm so surprised that I've learned so much about technology that I can use for future use as an adult and as a student in high school or even college.
Being an AdVENTURE student also means that you work together in a small group with other students usually from your class, which helps create more teamwork skill that you can use in the future. This way we learn to share ideas with others, to compromise with the different ideas our group has in mind, and to learn to input all the creative ideas and different roles you are good at into one final product with your team mates.
The lessons and issues they teach in AdVENTURE is so modern and so much more diverse than any other school's curriculum, in the four years I've spent in this school, I'e been taught so much about social issues, and about academic information that I can use for future use in high school and socially with other people. This program has allowed students a wide range of information to groups of diverse students who share almost little to nothing in common, but it has brought this bunch together into one class, where they learn to get along and learn together. I've learned so much about the different people in my class and in other classes at AdVENTURE and have learned to stick with them for 4 years.
I'm actually pretty sad that this is my last year, but I'm glad I was able to stay for the experience at AdVENTURE and gain so much from it, and I'm prepared to take all that I've learned with me in the future and in high school. I took away so much from this program and do not know where I'd be without it. I've learned a lot about who I am, and about my classmates too. It's safe to say that I'm prepared for the future to come, and I will miss everything in AdVENTURE, good bye to all my teachers, and lower-class men, I hope that you've all had the same great experience I've had, and wish you luck in the future.
And a goodbye and thank you to everyone
